Nhl player ray kaunisto slips 7 “meows” into an interview

Sports players have a reputation for trotting out bland truisms during post-game interviews, but the hockey star Ray Kaunisto recently bucked the trend by using his time on camera to sneak a bunch of “meows” into his answers.

“Right meow we came out, hit a few guys quickly there,” the Kalamazoo Wings player Kaunisto told the interviewer, before going on to complete an impressive total of seven meows during the spot. (The phrase “right meow” was cleverly used as Kaunisto’s main phrasing tactic to reach his quota.)

The ruse of inserting the word “meow” into sentences originates from the movie Super Troopers, with a scene involving a cop attempting to utter the word 10 times during a routine traffic stop.

You can check the meow-tastic video footage for yourself below — complete with Kaunisto bowing his head and clearly trying very hard not to laugh right before he begins his interview jape.
