Tick season is supposed to be brutal this year
That picture is giving me the willies. I know we have brought up ticks before, but there are already warnings all over social media that this tick season is already gearing up to be brutal. Reports are already piling up of tick bites and Lyme Disease infections, and it is only mid May. So we just wanted to take a quick moment to give you this warning and give you some advice about what to do about ticks and how to avoid them.
Truth is, you can wear long pants and tucks your socks into your pants and cover your head and wear repellent and be okay. But the main reason we are all here is dogs, yes? So what do you do about your dog? Well, we have written articles about organic tick powder you can make at home using essential oils and such. Truthfully, when it comes to dogs and ticks, there is really only one thing you can do. Be vigilant. You need to check your dog thoroughly every time you come in from being outdoors. Even more so when there is nature and woods involved. Check the layers of fur and make sure no little blood suckers have latched on.
There are also other methods you can do, but mainly, we just ask that you stay vigilant. With ticks season comes Lyme Disease season, and we would not wish that on any of our canine counter parts (or ourselves, for that matter).
