Pokemon go brings dog walkers to shelter

The people at Muncie Animal Shelter might be the most amazingly creative people we&rsquo-ve come across in a while. They&rsquo-ve decided to take the hit game Pokemon Go and turn it into something that benefits them and the animals in their care in a way that can only be described as genius. If you are not entirely sure what the game is, don&rsquo-t worry- neither am I. From what I can gather, however, it&rsquo-s a game that people are downloading onto their phones that allows them to see weird characters in many different places around the world, which is why you suddenly see people walking around your area all the time with their phones up scanning the area like they&rsquo-re searching for service.

Apparently, they&rsquo-re just searching for Pokemon characters. The shelter has decided to recruit people to come walk their dogs by telling them that if you&rsquo-re already out walking around looking for Pokemon, you might as well do it while you volunteer your time walking our shelter dogs, too. It&rsquo-s been working like crazy, and the shelter has more dog walking volunteers than you could imagine. It seems that more and more shelters ought to get on board this trendy craze and get their dogs more walkers, too.

Not only does it mean that the dogs are being walked, they&rsquo-re also socializing and learning important traits that are often necessary when living with a family that they will hopefully find when they are adopted into their own forever homes.
